The Band
Julie
What is the essence of... Julie. Long walks on the beach, Hot Pockets
at the swap meet... all of life is an adventure for this golden voiced beauty.
Born to a family of itinerant circus performers, Julie early on developed
a gift for le divertissement magique, at the age of six stunning
audiences with her mastery of the difficult operetta That Bungling Watchmaker
Lorenzo.
Not content with the mastery of voice alone, Julie soon pioneered the discipline of tapping her hands and feet along with the music, often in nearly perfect time.
While performing in New York's central park as 'Liza the easy-whistling mime' she was discovered by famed Broadway producer Chazz E. Matazz, and she soon conquered the Great White Way, dazzling audiences in hits like Gimme the Remote, Damn It! and Titanic 2, Still Floatin'.
Never backing down from a challenge, Julie's been heard to opine "I never back down from a challenge". She considers m2 the pinnacle of her artistic expression, and looks forwards to belting out hits for the little people for ages to come.
Jon
In addition to a love for buckskin and pretentious photography, music has
always been the jelly that's held Jon's sandwich together. A veritable Jon
of all trades, Jon seems to pick up instruments effortlessly, unless
they're particularly heavy, like a tuba or non-electric bass. Due to an
early string mishap, Jon eventually found himself the solitary master of
the 11-string guitar, recounted in his award-winning autobiography This
Guitar goes to 11.
In all... well, seriousness, as brother/sister balladeers we've written and performed our own music for... egad... many years now. Early influences include Yes, Peter Gabriel, Rush, The Police, Genesis, Kate Bush and Queen. Real life has always managed to keep us from making headway on actually getting anything recorded, but over the last 5 years we've finally gathered the equipment and recording know-how to make About Time a reality. We hope you enjoy the music as much as we've enjoyed creating it.
